Caroline Popper, MD, MPH
Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board
Dr. Caroline Popper is the President of Baylor College of Medicine Technologies (BCMT) and is the co-founder and President of Popper and Company, a boutique life sciences consulting and M&A advisory. She has 20 years of hands-on biotech/life sciences operating experience. An internist and pathologist, subsequently trained in health economics, she combines this perspective with that gained from managing a wide spectrum of life sciences businesses in diagnostics, devices and drug discovery. Dr. Popper has extensive diagnostic industry experience – including 11 years at Becton Dickinson, as the founding General Manager of BDGene, and as Chief Business Officer for MDS Proteomics.
David Berger, MD, MHCM
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. David H. Berger, a Surgical Oncologist, is currently Professor of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and SVP/COO at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center (BSLMC). He was previously VP/Chief Clinical Officer at BSLMC. He attended medical school and completed a surgical residency at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn. Subsequently Dr. Berger completed a fellowship in surgical oncology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Berger obtained a Master’s in Health Care Management from Harvard University in 2007. Dr. Berger is a health services researcher who is expert in surgical patient flow, surgical readmissions, and patient education. He is the founding editor of the Journal of Perioperative Care and OR Management.
Chief Technology Officer
David Hickethier has committed his career to locating the most meaningful intersections of technology, design and human experience and to answering such intersections with transformative solutions. Mr. Hickethier’s initial startup, AndCulture, began to craft meaningful products in 1998 and has evolved in the eighteen years since into a thriving Experience Design firm focused on helping invent the future of Healthcare. Mr. Hickethier also is the founder and Chairman of the Board of Catamaran, an investment group working with startups in the Healthcare and Education spaces.
Wayne Keathley, MPH
Mr. Wayne Keathley is a nationally recognized leader with over 35 years of experience in healthcare planning, operations, and program development. He most recently served as President of Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center. Prior to that, he led The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City as President and Chief Operating Officer and also served as Executive Vice President of Business Development for The Mount Sinai Medical Center, which includes the Icahn School of Medicine. During his tenure the hospital was recognized as a magnet hospital for nursing excellence and as a US News Honor Roll Hospital (top 20) for the first time. His areas of technical proficiency include systems design, regulatory affairs and risk management, and clinical program development.
